2019 Greenwich Wine + Food Festival Recap

I spent last Saturday, September 21st at the Greenwich Wine + Food Festival. It’s an annual event held at the Roger Sherman Baldwin Park in Greenwich, Connecticut. The two-day festival celebrates the area’s best culinary delights in the food and beverage industries. It also benefits multiple charitable organizations, including Food Rescue US. It has over 150 vendors providing samples of the best food, wine, and spirits on the market!

For those of you that haven’t attended, as soon as .you arrive you receive a wine glass (we actually use ours all year long!) and then proceed to the Grand Tasting Tent. In this spectacular tent you’ll find dozens of vendors, all offering tastings! In addition to the Grand Tasting Tent, there is a wine tasting tent, celebrity chef demos, and various other tasting tents on the premises. The furthest part of the park has a full-blown stage where Little Big Down performed this year!

I went last year and was blown away by how incredible the event was. It was by far one of the highlights of 2018. I didn’t think it was possible for it to get better - but somehow, this year was!

Last year I brought my husband, Dan, but this year I brought along my Mom and Dad too! My dad is a huge foodie - so it was his dream day. He LOVED it!

I learned a lot from this year’s event, which you can read about here, so I came this year prepared for a long day of eating, drinking, music and enjoying the beautiful weather!

Now let’s get into some of the vendor highlights. Now keep in mind that there were about 150 vendors there, so I didn’t get a chance to necessarily spend time at every single one of them, so there may have been so incredible vendors that I missed. However, here are some that totally stuck out to me, starting with the food businesses first:

Fjord Fish Market - Fjord made my list again this year with their raw salmon. It was absolutely incredible and probably my favorite sampling of the day!

Kow Cattle Company - These guys were on the top of my list last year, and they are again this year! Their steak will literally melt in your mouth. On top of that, it’s organic with no added hormones or antibiotics.

Embody Fitness Gourmet - Embody was sampling their delicious mango chia seed pudding (so good!). I loved Embody because their focus is healthy REAL food - with a ton of gluten-free and vegan options!

Pressed Juicery - Pressed came in clutch with their probiotic and gut-friendly shots. These were absolutely needed for the full day of eating and drinking!

Citarella - Citarella was sampling some wine and HUGE slices of apple strudel!

Hive - Hive was sampling their avocado and tuna tartar in a cilantro lemon ginger dressing. Yes, you heard that right. Needless to say, it was pretty terrific.

Hoodoo Brown BBQ- I coudn’’t believe the SPREAD of food they were giving out! Every person received an entire plate filled with brisket, ribs, kielbasa and pickles with their BBQ sauce on top. It was absolutely incredible!

Nit Noi Provisions - Nit Noi was sampling their pork and veggie dumplings in bone broth! I tried their pork dumplings and they were to die for!

For beverage/spirit brands:

Don Julio - Don Julio (aka my favorite tequila brand of ALL TIME) was giving out fantastic margaritas and Palomas. My mom and I went to this booth at least 3 times. ;)

Fishers Island Lemonade - Fishers Island was sampling their incredible spiked lemonade, which is seriously one of my favorite beverages ever (and gluten-free!).

Stella - Stella was giving away full-sized beers again this year (with their signature Stella glass!).

Manny’s Ultimate Bloody Mary - Manny’s was sampling their mix with vodka for some pretty fantastic (and perfectly spicy) bloody marys.

Tangueray - Tangueray was sampling some “make-your-own” gin and tonics! They had an entire spread including fresh mint, basil, rosemary lime, lemon, orange, and grapefruit. I didn’t think I was a fan of gin and tonics until I tried one of these!

Lillet - Lillet was sampling some of their rosé and sangria. Their booth was absolutely gorgeous - filled with fresh roses everywhere! It was stunning (and the wine was good too ;).

Flying Embers - Flying Embers was sampling their delicious hard kombucha. Gut friendly alcohol is my love language!

90+ Cellars - 90+ Cellars was sampling their delicious wine and my favorite sangria ever, Mija!

Ketel One - Ketel One was sampling their Botanical vodka with some VERY delicious mixed drinks!

I’m already looking forward to GWFF 2020!
